Madison Country Day School, a pre-K through grade 12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking an engaging and highly motivated professional to work with the current director of enrollment in managing all facets of the admissions process in the school’s effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and dynamic student population.

 

Job Summary

The associate director of enrollment will partner with our current director of enrollment in executing four essential elements to ensure a competitive admissions process and the longterm health of the student body:

  • Prospective/new family relationship building and community connection management. This includes proactive communications, giving tours, and providing thorough and timely answers to questions.
  • Student admission process management.
  • Student enrollment data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Internal marketing/communications/events management to promote high student retention and enthusiastic word-of-mouth marketing by MCDS community members.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The associate director of enrollment will:

  • Champion the mission of MCDS.
  • Recruit and retain students and families who benefit from the school’s unique culture and programmatic offerings and contribute to the school community.
  • Track and promote progress of prospective students from inquiry to applicant to enrollment and beyond.
  • Help with data tracking and analysis related to student enrollment and prepare weekly reports.
  • Report directly to the head of school.
  • Work closely with the business office and division heads.
  • Maintain enrollment office budgets.
  • Partner with student groups, parent groups, and academic departments to help foster the school’s community.
  • Understand the culture and climate of the school and the broader educational environment to accurately communicate with prospective families.
  • Exemplify high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alumni, parents, and students throughout the admissions process.
  • Understand the sensitivity of economic, cultural, and other circumstances present in the enrollment of a diverse student body.
  • Help to plan and execute all admissions events.
  • Maintain the highest welcoming and professional appearance for all admission areas such as: the office, main entrance bulletin boards, admission parking spots etc.
  • Process inquiries/tours/applications/acceptances/enrollments in the Blackbaud Enrollment Management student information system.
  • Fulfill any tasks/assignments as communicated by the head of school.

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in education, preferably in admissions.
  • Impressive ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Blackbaud’s School Management Solutions products.

The marketing strategist for Madison Country Day School (MCDS) will work closely with the Director of Development, the Directors of Enrollment, and the trustee chair of the marketing committee, to develop and implement a comprehensive and strategic marketing plan designed to raise visibility, grow enrollment, and increase retention for an innovative International Baccalaureate (IB) World School that serves Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 students. This position reports to the Director of Development.

 

Job Summary

In this role, the marketing strategist will develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy aimed at four primary objectives:

  • Strengthen the MCDS brand.
  • Build brand awareness.
  • Increase prospective family inquiries, tours, visits, and student applications.
  • Engage current families to increase student retention.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Skillfully integrate a range of best-practice strategies and tactics in advertising and communications to connect with key internal and external audiences.
    • Examples of target audiences include: Prospective, past, and current families and students; faculty and staff; Board of Trustees; donors; volunteers; local media; and community opinion leaders.
  • Collaborate with the Web & Creative Services Manager on marketing projects.
    • The Web & Creative Services Manager is responsible for designing, refining, and packaging finished marketing materials for brand consistency and strategic impact.
  • Manage strategy and content for MCDS social media platforms.
  • Lead the content and concept development and raw shooting for internal and external promotional videos.
  • Write copy for all marketing materials including print, digital and video formats.
  • Track, compile, and analyze relevant marketing data for Board and senior leadership reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by Head of School and/or Director of Development.

 

Marketing Projects Include, but are not limited to:

  • Admissions & Enrollment  marketing and promotion e.g. School program general information brochures, high school course guide, High School Preview Night video presentation, Community Open Houses, Pre-K and Kindergarten New Student Readiness Day, Parent Orientations, etc.
  • MCDS Events  marketing and promotion e.g. Annual Jazz Showcase, theater productions, music concerts and performances, and Athletic program event promo and collateral.
  • Fund Development  e.g. collateral for the MCDS Annual Fund, major fundraising events, stewardship events, and the MCDS Endowment.
  • Revenue-driven projects  e.g. Summer Discovery day camp program and other revenue-driven projects that may be initiated by the Head of School or other school leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or marketing.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing and communications with educational institutions and/or nonprofit organizations.
  • A portfolio of successful marketing and communications work with a web and social media emphasis. Work portfolio examples should demonstrate capability of solving marketing problems, storytelling skill and blending multiple communication modes to achieve strategic goals.
  • Expertise with Mac and/or PC platforms and content management systems.
  • Skill with Google Adwords, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, Google+, YouTube, etc.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Blackbaud’s RE and ON products.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time-management skills with proven ability to successfully produce and manage multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
