High School Commencement
“MCDS is a unique school – a learning environment that is student driven and teacher supported, constantly challenging and endlessly interesting.”
Elena Streeter, MCDS Class of 2009
Congratulations to Caitlin Robb, Elena Streeter, Dom Boyle, and Libby Meier (shown left to right below), the newest members of our MCDS alumni group!

The commencement speeches given by our 2009 graduates sum up their experiences at Madison Country Day School.
Words from our graduates ...
Dom Boyle
"Through my own experiences I have seen that my liberal arts education has served me well: it has completed its goal by giving me a grounding base of knowledge from which I can put new ideas and information in context, as well as the skills I need to learn more from the information presented to me. When I’m at an art museum, reading something about science, conversing in Japanese, or conversing in an art museum about science in Japan, I increasingly find myself noticing the connections that my education has allowed me to draw." Libby Meier
"At MCDS, we were taught to do math, to read and write, to speak foreign languages, to play music and create art, but the greatest thing we learned was to think. In the future, we will do many things, but we will always use this way of thinking to complete them." For Libby's full speech, please click here.
Caitlin Robb
"We all have had experiences in our travels that have affected the way we see the world and have given us a certain awareness of ourselves." For Caitlin's full speech, please click here.
Elena Streeter
"We chose this school, whether it started as a choice or not, because it allows us to be ourselves—to explore our interests, engage in our community, take pride in our work and be accepted for who we are. And I know that I for one am honored to be graduating with such an amazing group of people from such an incredible school." For Elena's full speech, please click here.
