Madison Country Day School Camp is a place where boys and girls can have fun while learning about themselves as people. We encourage them to try new things by creating a safe and enthusiastic environment where fun and respect are the top priorities.

Camp hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
After Camp Care is available from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

MCDS Summer Camp offers a unique blend of light academics and indoor/outdoor active fun as well as inspirational and exciting exploration in the fields of science, engineering, nature, and art.

Each day our campers will experience a touch of the following:

• Wonders of Nature
  Come outside and look around you. Nature's beauty abounds here at MCDS. We will spend quality time hiking and exploring the prairie and pond. You will learn a lot about nature conservation, as well as basic survival skills. Love catching insects or identifying flowers and birds? For digital camera enthusiasts, this class has endless possibilities.
  
  
• Art Dream
  Ever wanted to learn to weave? Or create a clay sculpture? Go for it! Also draw, paint, cut or glue, immerse yourself in beadwork . . . Art has no limits!
  
  
• Indoor/Outdoor Games
  "Keep your body active" is the slogan of this class. Whether being outside on the soccer field or playing games in the gym, we guarantee that you will keep movin. Obstacle courses, tennis practice, gymnastics and yoga, here we go!
  
  
• Around the World
  Where in the world is our camper X? This class will take you on the journey to find out. Through games and culture facts, you will visit country after country. Along the way you will learn many useful phrases in different languages, and, yes, we will also include the best of our world cooking class from previous years.
  
  
• Mad Math and Word Challenge
  How about those sleeping brain cells? This is the time to wake them up! Join us for math Mad Minute, mind teaser games, Ruff-Ruff-Men style treasure hunts, Rhyme Time or Wheel of Fortune fun. Do not forget to bring a notebook for that long overdue mystery novel you always wanted to write.
  
  
• Science Magic/Engineering Minds
  Erupting volcanoes, rocket races, chemistry and magnetism mysteries - this class will be a sum of really cool stuff.
  Also, bees and ticks beware! Using basic household products, we will show you how to trap them.
  In the engineering part, you will challenge yourself while raising bridges, creating towers or planning the whole city. Watch that marble roll down the run your team designed. Make the best looking (and flying!) paper airplane ever!
  
  
• Free Choice
  Finish that journal entry, chat with your friends, share your talent or interest, join us for a slew of engaging group activities or simply relax. This is your time off!
  
  

Each subject lasts about 45 minutes/day. There are two 30 minute long snack breaks and one 1 hour-long lunch break. Healthy and nutritious snacks will be provided. Campers are asked to bring their own lunch.

Jump Start Program

The Jump Start Program is designed to:
1) help kids who need a boost during the summer in order to prepare academically for the fall, and
2) challenge motivated students who are seeking academic enrichment opportunities during the summer months.

Jump Start classes offer tutoring in two core subject areas: Math and Spanish. Boys and girls will be assigned to the appropriate class level based on their needs and abilities. The hour and a half long classes, led by qualified instructors, range from 2-5 students per class so you can be sure your child will be getting plenty of individual attention.

Students participating in our Jump Start Program can join our action-packed camp session in progress.
