On Thursday, May 10, at 2:45 p.m. Madison Country Day School (MCDS) will host a special book discussion with published author Erin Miller, MCDS Class of 2011. Miller will discuss her book, Wisconsin’s 37: The Lives of Those Missing in Action in the Vietnam War.
The book discussion will be held in conjunction with MCDS hosting Wisconsin Remembers: A Face for Every Name, a traveling exhibit from The Wisconsin Veterans Museum featuring a photo for each of the 1,161 Wisconsinites officially listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The exhibit also includes additional photos for names that are listed on The Highground Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Neillsville, WI. Wisconsin Remembers is a tribute to lost life and lost potential.
Mark Childs, high school English teacher at MCDS saw the hosting of Wisconsin Remembers and the Miller book discussion as a natural fit, “When we learned that this exhibit is available to host, I thought it was only natural to have Erin discuss her new book during the same time.” Childs added, “Erin has accomplished a remarkable achievement with this Wisconsin’s 37, and we’re proud to put a spotlight on her work.”
Miller’s book, Wisconsin’s 37: The Lives of Those Missing in Action in the Vietnam War, will be released in May by McFarland Books. Miller plans to donate all royalties from the book to support veterans.
