The admissions process helps us get to know your child right from the start.

The MCDS admissions team will work closely with you on your child’s application. We are here to answer questions, troubleshoot technology issues and support families through this process. Checklist by Grade

Pre-K and Kindergarten Applicants

  • Schedule a tour or register for an event.
  • Complete Online Application Form and Submit Application Fee ($100.00).
  • Teacher Recommendation sent through Admissions Portal
  • Schedule a “Readiness” Visit.
    • During this visit students enjoy social time with peers, classroom exploration, and one-on-one time with the teacher.

Lower School Applicants (Grade 1-4)

Middle School Applicants (Grade 5-8)

  • Schedule a tour or register for an event.
  • Complete Online Application Form and Submit Application Fee ($100.00)
  • Submit Grade Reports (previous two years)
  • Teacher Recommendations sent through Admissions Portal to:
    • Math teacher
    • English teacher
  • Submit Recent Standardized Test Results (if available)
  • Schedule Class Visit Day
  • Submit Writing Sample. Please have your child write a paragraph or one-page response to the below essay question. Your child may handwrite or type their essay. When the essay is complete, upload their essay in the Admissions Portal.

High School Applicants (Grade 9-12)

  • Schedule a tour or register for an event.
  • Complete Online Application Form and Submit Application Fee ($100.00)
  • Submit Grade Reports (previous two years)
  • Teacher Recommendation sent through Admissions Portal to:
    • Math teacher
    • English teacher
  • Submit Recent Standardized Test Results (if available)
  • Schedule Class Visit Day
  • Submit Essay. Applicants can choose one of the following essay topics and write a one-to-two page response. Upload the completed essay to the application progress page in the Admissions Portal (onCampus).

Essay topics (please select one):

  • From what life experience have you learned the most and why?
  • “Effort is generally more important than ability.” Discuss why you agree or disagree with this statement and how you arrived at that position in your personal experience.
  • What is the most difficult  obstacle you have ever experienced? What did you learn from this?
  • Share one way that you are involved with your community and describe its impact on you. 

International Applicants

  • Schedule a Zoom with our Director of Enrollment.
  • Complete online application with foreign address and US address
  • Submit application fee of $100 USD
  • Submit teacher recommendation (both original copy and translated copy)
  • Submit school grade reports for past two years (both original copies and translated copies)
  • Submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores
  • Submit standardized testing results
  • Schedule a virtual interview
  • Complete writing sample
  • Complete math assessment
  • Submit copy of passport
  • Submit letter from parents expressing why they would like their child to attend MCDS
  • Submit declaration of finances/bank statement
  • Submit proof of medical insurance
  • Submit medical and vaccination information
  • Submit guardian information
