Interested Families Can Now Connect with Current Parents
MCDS has a new online tool that allows prospective families to speak with current parents and ask questions they may have about the school.
PeerPal began as a tool for individuals researching colleges to connect with students who are enrolled in the schools. The premise lent itself well to independent schools as a resource for prospective parents wanting to connect with parents of enrolled students.
Currently, there are seven MCDS PeerPal parent volunteers ready to take questions from interested families. MCDS PeerPal parent Mark Louden was immediately interested in helping when he learned the school was considering this new tool. “Our experience as an MCDS family has been wonderful. We are so grateful our daughter has been a student here and want to give back to the school in every way we can.”
The parents have children in grades ranging from kindergarten through high school. The conversations are made through the PeerPal platform to protect the privacy of those who participate. MCDS will rotate PeerPal parent volunteers as the program grows. The link to PeerPal is on the MCDS website under Admissions and named Connect with MCDS Parents.
The small start-up company offered to make MCDS a test site for the parent-to-parent service, which is still in beta. The enrollment office is working closely with the developers as they continue to offer enhancements.
