On Monday, March 14, Madison Country Day School (MCDS) held an official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Academic Center addition. The project includes a 20,000 square foot addition and renovations to existing buildings.
“These improvements will ensure MCDS continues to offer a transformative and inspiring educational environment to enable our students to reach their extraordinary potential,” stated Head of School Ben Hebebrand. “We are excited about how the new addition will strengthen our unwavering commitment to whole child education including our exceptional art and music program.”
The naming rights for the new MCDS S.T.E.A.M. Wing will be reserved for its lead donor, the Hallick family. John Hallick, with sons James and Erick, founded and built the local Madison company CPM, which merged with Healthgrades and currently employs over 400 people in the Madison area. The Hallick Family provided the largest gift to secure the financial footing for the “Spreading Our Wings” capital campaign that to date has raised more than $5.5 million.
The $6.7 million project is slated to be completed by the opening of the 2016-2017 school year. Planning, design, and construction of the project is provided by Bray Architects and Findorff Construction.
