MCDS Welcomes Rita Gipp, Academic Technology Integration Specialist

MCDS is excited to welcome Rita Gipp. Rita will lead the school’s technology efforts, coinciding with the opening of a Lower School Tinker Lab, a Maker Space, and equipping every Middle School student with a Chromebook. She will also enhance the integration of technology into the classrooms.

Rita holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a Math Education minor, and a master’s degree in Technology Education. Rita has served several Wisconsin school districts with her longest tenure of 15 years as a Technology Education/Mathematics Teacher at Marshall Middle School in Janesville, and most recently as a Technology/Engineering/Media Teacher at Nicolet High School in Glendale.

Additionally, Rita has served as an Online Instructor for UW’s Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth and Lead Director for summer computer camps affiliated with Johns Hopkins University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Based on her experience with summer camps, Rita will also serve as Director of Summer Programming with the summer of 2017 targeted as our re-entry into comprehensive summer programming, a component of which will certainly include offerings in the STEAM field.
