Three MCDS students win Wisconsin School Music Association 2014 Student Composition Project awards

Three MCDS students win Wisconsin School Music Association 2014 Student Composition Project awards. Each composition was evaluated by Wisconsin composers on melody, rhythm, harmony, form, creativity, and general effect, with awards given solely based on merit.

Matthew Muldowney ’18 is the WSMA Middle School Division Winner for the composition Late Night Blues, which also won Best Instrumental Ensemble. In addition to a plaque, Matthew will also receive a scholarship to study one-on-one with a Wisconsin-based composer.

Sophia Korotev ’18 won 3rd Place in the Instrumental Ensemble Category for the composition The Prius Grand Free Air. Rohan Shah ’20 won Best Instrumental Solo in the Instrumental Solo Category for the composition The Other Street.
