Donate nowWhat is the MCDS Promise?
MCDS offers a learning environment where students are challenged to meet their full potential. From Pre-K to grade 12, smaller class sizes foster connections between faculty and students who together seek a depth and breadth of knowledge that are informed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile.
MCDS students are truly known and prepared intellectually, emotionally, and socially to step into the world with a passion for learning that never ends. This is the promise of an MCDS education.
MCDS Revenue Sources
Why do we have an Annual Fund?
Independent schools like ours rely on different funding sources than public, parochial, or charter schools. For MCDS, most, but not all, operating revenue comes from tuition and fees (88%). The balance comes from other sources including the Annual Fund.
How are Annual Fund gifts used?
The Annual Fund—which completes the MCDS operating budget—is integral to delivering on the promise of an exceptional education. Your gifts to the Annual Fund:
- support educational programming, technology, and facilities to fulfill our mission of educating the whole child and preparing each student for the demands of today’s world;
- help MCDS attract and retain top faculty by ensuring the resources necessary for comprehensive pay, benefits, and thoughtful professional development, allowing teachers to grow in their profession and bring that enrichment back to the classroom; and
- expand our International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum through funding specialized faculty. Starting with this school year, for example, MCDS now offers all three sciences at the IB level.
What amount should I give?
At whatever level you can give, every single gift counts. And every gift has a positive impact on the school! Last year, gifts ranged in size from $5 to $15,000.
Please make your gift or pledge to the Annual Fund today!
Each year, individuals who make gifts of $1,000 or more are recognized for their leadership contributions as members of the Yahara Society. These donors are honored each year at a special celebration with the Head of School. We hope to welcome you as a member.
In my office I make promises about what an MCDS education offers. I know they are grounded in what happens here. And when I step into our classrooms there’s something so dynamic and extraordinary. That’s when families see the promises in action.
