Dear MCDS Community,

A pandemic cannot stop us from celebrating our school and community! While we are extremely sad to have missed the opportunity to share time together at this year’s Celebrate MCDS in person, our resilient volunteer committee has been working hard on a virtual way for us to celebrate our school and raise the much-needed funds to keep MCDS strong. There is no greater time than in the midst of a crisis to link arms (virtually, of course) and move forward together.

Help keep MCDS strong

Celebrate MCDS is our largest parent party and fundraiser of the school year. We get a chance to celebrate our school and parent community as a whole! Now, more than ever, we all need a break to let loose and congratulate one another on making it this far. Our financial goal was to raise $150,000 from this event. We hope that, if you are able, you will show support for MCDS by making a donation to help us strengthen our foundation for the uncertain times ahead of us.

Instead of the typical separate paddle raise we have during Celebrate, we hope that all will consider “raising their paddle” toward one common goal: keeping MCDS strong. If you did purchase tickets or tables for our live event, we will be contacting you individually. The golden ticket raffle has been canceled for this year and all tickets sold have been refunded–raffle ticket sales are not allowed online or through mail. We hope to offer the popular golden ticket raffle again next year!

Typically, a large portion of our total raised comes from our live auction items. This year, we had many wonderful and exciting trips to bid on, which we will hold off on until 2021 as traveling and gathering does not seem to be in the cards right now. We are excited to offer an online auction with simplified inventory that is timely and relevant such as the beautiful grade-level artwork created by your children, And in an exciting online mini live auction: the parking spots I know people will be desiring on August 24 when we return to campus, a dine-around package full of gift cards that will allow you to support local restaurants from the comfort of your home, and a golf-around package that will allow you to get out on the courses recently re-opened!

Join us for (virtual) Celebrate MCDS!

On May 16, MCDS invites you to gather together in virtual form at 6:30 p.m. We will play games, hear student speakers, celebrate our exceptional volunteers with our annual stepping stone ceremony, and toast to our amazing school. We encourage you to support your favorite local restaurant with an eat at home meal, pop a cork from a nice bottle of vino, and spend your evening with us!

The option to make a donation begins today. Every dollar builds a stronger school ready to face any challenges to come! Thank you.
