We invite families of current 7th and 8th students to attend our high school preview night! We will highlight why MCDS high school is the choice for families looking for a school that supports the whole student. This event will provide an opportunity to learn about academic offerings, college planning, and student life.

Madison Country Day School invites you to attend an Open House for prospective students and their families. The Open Houses will provide an opportunity to meet and interact with teachers, administrators, and students, as well as tour our campus. See if our highly personalized yet focused school environment is right for you! We hope to see you there!

Peter Locke, Head of High School, and Matt Koehler, Director of College Counseling, will host a session together discussing the benefits of an IB education and our college counseling program.  Peter will talk through all of the benefits MCDS students receive with an IB education, while Matt will outline the college counseling support our high school students receive throughout their high school experience.

Despite the distorted, misleading, and downright ugly cultural messages about sexuality that so ubiquitously bombard our middle and high school kids, decades of research demonstrates that it’s families and schools that really make the difference in their lives. Join us to discover what our children really need from us–the immediate trusted adults in their lives–and the many vital ways that we can support them in becoming healthy, caring, and ethical sexual people.

Tools for your child’s emotional toolbox: How to help little people deal with big emotions: Parent Education Series

Past Event

Interim Head of Lower School Megan Thornburgh along with School Counselor Julia Larson will be able to address your wonderings about, social skills and practical ways to help students recognize and manage their emotions. Julia and Megan will be reviewing the Toolbox Curriculum. The Toolbox curriculum teaches 12 simple yet powerful “Tools.” With practice, these inner skills become important personal and social proficiencies for self awareness, self management, healthy relationships, and responsible decision making. The common language and practices of Toolbox help children quickly adopt the Tools and use them with autonomy, resilience, and self mastery. This talk is applicable for ages four through ten.
