Madison Country Day School (MCDS) welcomes international students in grades 9-12 from all over the world to enhance a globally-diverse student body.

Opportunities

Our faculty, students, and school community as a whole value the opportunity to learn about new cultures and gain fresh perspectives.

International students who attend MCDS will learn how to navigate a different culture in a supportive and nurturing environment while advancing their critical thinking, gain fluency in English, and experience an academically rigorous, college preparatory education. In addition to enhancing academic skills, students will be able to get involved in activities, clubs and organizations that match their interests. Students will be able to experience American customs and traditions first hand that are native to MCDS’ home state of Wisconsin. With close proximity to the state’s capitol Madison, WI there is a lot to explore!

International students may wish to pursue either a U.S. high school diploma and/or International Baccalaureate Diploma and will find that MCDS is focused on helping each student find several “best match” colleges by offering enriching experiences that will help students choose a career path and pursue their personal interests. Personalized college advising starts in ninth grade. Students work with our college advisor who facilitates the college application and decision-making process.

Our alumni have been accepted to top colleges and universities including the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Yale University, New York University, Arizona State University/Barrett Honors College, and Lawrence University and of course the University of Wisconsin-Madison. All MCDS graduates have been accepted into best-match colleges, and 95% of our graduates have been offered merit aid awards that average $25,000 and are renewable for four years. Check this college list to see where our students have been accepted.
