Alumnus Will Jarvis was honored with the award of becoming a member of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's Class of 2022. The ASF was founded by the Mercury 7 Astronauts to provide scholarships and opportunities for the brightest students in STEM fields around the country. It started with 7 students with scholarships provided directly by the Mercury 7 but has expanded to where my class had 68 Scholars each receiving up to $15,000 in scholarships this year. They also provide us with free mentoring services from astronauts and business leaders and many more wonderful opportunities. Last week, we received our awards in Orlando where were given a tour of the Saturn V rocket by Apollo 17 Astronaut Harrison Schmitt, a tour of the Space Shuttle Atlantis by six-time astronaut Charles Precourt, professional development, and much more.
